“A free and playful way to try out piano - fun!”
- Malin Isberg, Work Therapist.
"I was very thrilled with Vide's way of teaching! An explorative and compassionate method that remembers it is equally important how you practice (and in wich state) as how much! One hour of deep practice or flow state is worth more than ten hours of brute force repetition, and Vide took me to a playful flow state in a matter of minutes, something I otherwise struggle to reach.
I even found myself smiling and giggling at my inner critical voice and incorporated it into a piano improvisation that Vide guided me through.
When the lessons was over I felt like an excited kid, an explorer of sound eager to get home to see what the piano would sing!
I warmly recommend this mindful approach to teaching and hope to see more of it in schools and elsewhere!"
- Jens Danielsson, Social Worker and Musician.
“Vide plays music from his heart and does it because he enjoys to play so much.
This also makes the audience enjoy the music even more. This intuitive playing is what Vide excels in teaching.”
- Prisca Braga, Strategic Coordinator.
“I had my first ever Piano lesson with Vide and I absolutely loved it. He is a great Teacher, with a lot of patience and devotion to Music. I believe whatever level you are at musically, you can learn something from Vide “
- Cedric Lorenz, Yoga- and Zen-Therapist
“I chose Vide Chevalier to coach my 5 year old son after interviewing four other musicians. He has been a fantastic influence for my boy and explored many different approaches to have such a young boy focused and to reach out for his personal taste for music. I very much recommend Vide after the 15 sessions the two of them have had.”
- Judith Freita-Ramos, Project Manager at Baxter
"I want to give my warmest recommendation for Mindful Music!
Vide Receives in a calm and welcoming space.
For me, who never really dared to play before, I enjoyed his open and playful way so I felt free to express myself musically."
- Sven Abrahamsson, Event Organizer.
"When it comes to learning an instrument, I often felt that I don't even want to get started, because it would take me too long before I can start enjoying it... I just wanted to play and enjoy... My session with Vide Chevalier showed me that this is possible.
That I can have a relaxed and explorative approach to learning a new instrument. That I don't need to go through boring technicalities before I can enjoy playing Thank You!"
- Emese Kovács, Entrepreneur and Author.

for
Mindful Music
Ever since I was a little boy, I had an intuitive love for how sounds could make me feel. I had a musical family and a piano was in our home.
This helped immersing me in music while trying out different ways to touch the keys of the piano.
"What sounds good? What do I like? What can music sound like?"
From there on it continued, and I took a few lessons (which were old fashioned and boring, all about reading notes, so I quit!) studied music theory and music production and kept on learning to play in my own intuitive way. This included a lot of experimenting and feeling my way forward. Whenever it felt necessary I consulted other, more experienced, musicians.
After many years of pursuing music and working as a pianist, performer, composer and teacher, I realized how many of us feel creative pressure on ourselves! Almost everyone feels "not enough" when it comes to creativity and arts. It's as if something innate and natural to us humans, which is a human need to express ourselves creatively, has been turned into a skillset for only a selected few to make money from.
"This is not what music is for", I felt, "it's for everyone to enjoy!"
So I decided to turn my own journey and special way to approach music into a technique that could help others to play music with freedom and confidence in themselves. To relax into music and enjoy it TODAY, not running after a distant future where one will finally enjoy the fruits of playing.
Because, honestly, learning to play music is way, way more about one's mindset and belief in oneself than any raw musical talent. Anyone can be trained and develop musical technique and intuition, even you who is reading this. Most definitely you.
If you believe you can learn, and understand that mistakes will be made and that those are part of the process, then you will learn and you will be able to play music just the way you wish. In just a few weeks time I will show you that you can play music intuitively.
With about a decade of experience as a musician and music teacher, as well as a certified Mindfulness Coach, I developed a unique approach to music that combines mindfulness with classical music education.
I call it Mindful Music.
